Wellington College International (WCI) is pleased to announce its first expansion into Africa through a strategic partnership with Rendeavour, Africa’s largest new city builder. This collaboration will see the establishment of Wellington College International Lagos in Alaro City, Nigeria - a purpose-built co-educational day and boarding school for 1,500 students aged 3–18, opening in September 2027.

This milestone reflects WCI’s commitment to extending its distinctive educational ethos to regions of growing global significance. Nigeria’s dynamic economy and long-standing demand for international education make it an ideal location for Wellington College’s first African school, bringing a world-class British education closer to home and contributing to the development of future leaders in West Africa.
Sir Anthony Seldon, Founding Director, Wellington College Education:
“In the age of generative AI and a rapidly changing world, Wellington College Education aims to lead globally in shaping education for the 21st century. WCI Lagos will be at the heart of this educational revolution in Africa.”

Situated within Alaro City’s master-planned environment, the campus will be designed by award-winning British architects MICA and feature state-of-the-art facilities. The school will follow the English National Curriculum through to A Levels, offering exceptional academics, strong pastoral care and a broad co-curricular programme, with leadership in future-ready learning, including AI and entrepreneurship.
